STATE FARM ARENA AND CITY OF HIDALGO WELCOME THE SOUTHERN INDOOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Hidalgo TX -  State Farm Arena, The City of Hidalgo and The Southern Indoor Football League (SFIL) announced today that football will return to the Rio Grande Valley in 2011.  League President Thom Hager states “Texans know football and they love the indoor game.  Teams have played throughout the state in several leagues and we are excited to bring football that’s affordable back in the Valley.”

New team owner, Chad Dittman has wanted to launch Hidalgo for years and has committed to a three- year arena lease with the city.  The team will call the State Farm Arena home as early as March 2011.  “I’m super excited”. Dittman said.  “People are fired up about us coming into town.  Now that we’ve made the announcement the work begins”, Dittaman said with a smile.
“In our search to continue bringing the best family entertainment to State Farm Arena we are pleased to announce this new franchise and are very excited to start working with the league, the team and the fans”  said City of Hidalgo Mayor, John David Franz Dittaman said the first order of business is to locate office space and hire a sales staff.

 Rio Bank has come on board with the team as the 1st sponsor and Tom Van Marte, a long time Dorado’s season ticket holder was the 1st to purchase season tickets.  The team is conducting a “Name the Team Contest” to acquire its name.  to enter the “Name the Team Contest”, visit the team’s website at www.rgvsifl.com.

Season tickets are now on sale and start at just $84 and can be purchased by calling 956-358-6891 or through the team’s website.  The team will conduct a nationwide search in its quest for a Head Coach and expect to have an announcement by September 1st.
