Philips Arena Among Nominees for Major Arena of the Year

ATLANTA, GA - Atlanta's Philips Arena has once again earned a spot amongst the nations finest as a top ranked entertainment venue according to industry-leading publication Pollstar Magazine. For the entire 2011 calendar year, Philips Arena has been named as the No. 3 concert and events venue in the United States, based on attendance figures released by Pollstar Magazine in its January edition. Philips Arena was also recently nominated, with six other venues from around North America, by industry peers for Pollstar's Major Arena of the Year for 2011.

Pollstar's 2011 rankings, which are based on concert and show ticket sales, indicates that hundreds of thousands of people around the country attended shows during 2011 at Philips Arena for acts such as Bon Jovi, Sade, Taylor Swift, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Zac Brown Band and Jay-Z & Kanye West. The rankings include attendance for concerts and other shows hosted by Philips Arena from January 1, 2011, to December 31, 2011.

Upcoming events for Philips Arena in 2012 that have been announced include Radiohead (March 1), Romeo Santos (March 4), Bruce Springsteen (March 18) Van Halen (April 19), UFC (April 21), Coldplay (July 2) and Madonna (Nov. 17).
