ATLANTA – Yesterday, State Farm Arena, home of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, secured the top ranking for leadership in sustainability for the second consecutive year after earning nearly 40 GOAL medals at the 2025 GOAL Invitational & Awards Ceremony. The award-winning downtown Atlanta venue earned gold medals throughout each of the primary categories of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). GOAL, a pioneering sustainability-driven membership and support network for sports, entertainment, and live event venues hosted the national conference for venue executives and industry leaders.

“For GOAL to recognize State Farm Arena with a medal in all ten categories is truly an honor,” said Amanda Mann, Executive Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer for the Hawks and State Farm Arena. “We are grateful for everyone who has helped us achieve this accomplishment. Our guests and fans who visit our venue, our team members who help us provide a world-class experience, and our partners who support our efforts are all pivotal to our continued success.”

In total, State Farm Arena earned 36 medals, an increase from last year’s 29. The venue received 14 Gold, six Silver and 16 Bronze medals. The organization received gold medals in the following subcategories: Increase Waste Diversion by Composting, Increase Waste by Recycling, Properly Dispose of Hard to Recycle Material and Reduce Quantity of Total Waste and several others. New this year, State Farm Arena received medals in categories such as: ESG Strategy & Commitment and Set Sustainability Strategy & Goals.

“The GOAL Medals are our industry’s only validation of sustainability in everyday operations,” said Kristen Fulmer, Executive Director of GOAL & Head of Sustainability at Oak View Group. “We’re excited to see that State Farm Arena continues to build upon their efforts, validating the continuous commitment to positive impact.”

This year’s invitational was hosted in Las Vegas and top venue executives and industry leaders met to share tactical sustainability solutions for the live event industry. At the event, State Farm Arena executives were able to connect with forward-thinking peers and celebrate the impactful successes of GOAL Members.
